Mohiniyattam Dance Classes
Dance Ihayami’s Mohiniyattam dance classes are unfortunately not available in the class timetable this term.  We hope to have them reinstated shortly so please do register your interest with info@danceihayami.org and we can keep you posted or alternatively we can arrange workshops in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Falkirk.

What is Mohiniyattam dance?
Mohiniyattam is one of India’s classical dance forms.  It originated in Kerala, in the south of India.  Mohiniyattam is a graceful and elegant dance which is mostly performed by women.  Mohiniyattam is often referred to as the “dance of the enchantress” and its soft swaying movements are reminiscent of the ancient rivers that flow in Kerala.

What should I wear to class?
No shoes are needed for classical Indian dance so just wear comfortable clothing and that’s it.  Many students will wear a Saree to class but that’s entirely up to you!
