Priya Shrikumar - With more than 27 years experience in Indian classical dance, teaching and choreography Priya has a sound track record of:

  • Successfully developing and delivering her own styles and signature pieces;
     
  • Working alongside choreographers and musicians from a wide range of cultural backgrounds;
     
  • Providing advice and mentoring in Indian classical dance to other dance practitioners outside the tradition;
     
  • Mentoring and professional training of new and forthcoming dancers.

  • Residency at Dance Base, National centre for dance in Scotland – Chinese and Indian music and dance collaboration project (2007)

  • Garden of the 14th Moon, Tramway (2006)
     
  • National Museums of Scotland (2005 and 2006)

  • Visits to Indian festivals and meeting dancers/choreographers for future collaborative work (2005)
     
  • Dance collaboration with Maori dance group Toro Toro and subsequent tour of New Zealand (2005)
